worship with children

At St. Mark’s, we strive to create a space where everyone can experience the holy. This includes our youngest members! Our children's programs offer kids a safe, fun, and nourishing environment to experience Christian community and explore the Church’s rich heritage both on Sunday and during special occasions throughout the year.

Welcome to Worship

Please be assured that your child, fidgets and all, are fully welcome in this worshipping community. We invite them to pray with their bodies -- coloring, tracing, using other quiet manipulatives; standing, sitting on the floor, however they come. They are also invited to participate in liturgical jobs (like lighting candles, carrying up the bread and wine for Eucharist, offering the dismissal, etc). Over time, they will learn the rhythms of liturgy simply by being present, and will begin to participate in various ways as they grow. By children’s presence in worship, adults deepen their understanding of the Body of Christ and learn how to be joyfully embodied.

Children’s Chapel

Join us in Children’s Chapel as a Teacher, Greeter, or Worship Leader. This is a 90 minute time commitment that you can make as often as once a month, or as infrequently as once a semester. Kids love to see their parents in Chapel; it helps their own sense of investment and belonging grow

Special Events

Help plan or run one of the Children’s and Family Ministry special events. Flip pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, hide eggs on Easter morning, or make water balloons for our Parish Picnic! These are all fun and easy ways to join our community, make friends, and help our Children’s Ministry thrive.
