Screening of The “Philadelphia Eleven” Documentary

In 1974, eleven courageous women and their supporters organized their ordination into the priesthood of the Episcopal Church.  Their bold act of civil disobedience was difficult and costly — they were harassed, threatened, and even banned from stepping on church property.  Now, fifty years later, St. Mark’s is proud to host a screening of The Philadelphia Eleven, a documentary that tells the story of these faithful women who confronted patriarchy in the name of Christ, faced many forms of resistance, and ultimately changed the face of the Church forever.

Our screening will take place on Saturday, May 11th at 4pm.  Please save the date, invite your friends, and look for more details in the weeks to come!
