June is Pride Month, dedicated to the celebration and commemoration of LGBTQ+ pride and honoring the movement for rights and inclusion. That’s why you’ll see the Pride flag on the side of St. Mark’s this month, a public statement that “all are welcome.” In affirmation and celebration of our LGBTQ+ members, the Episcopal Church’s Office of Communication released a new Pride shield – and St. Mark’s has Episcopal Church Pride shield stickers available on the Welcome table in the narthex. Please do take one! The visible statements matter. And as all things in our Christian life, the accompanying actions named in our Baptismal Covenant to “strive for justice and peace among all people and respect the dignity of every human being” matter more!
