Last week our 12 guests who enjoyed the safe shelter of St. Mark’s Parish Hall each night in August moved on to their next temporary home at the Unitarian Church in Palo Alto for the month of September. They so appreciated the delicious dinners our congregation generously provided each evening, and the beautiful fountain courtyard gave them a quiet place to sit after dinner — and it was the venue for the Ice Cream Social, a new HDZ event this year, enjoyed by guests and parishioners alike. The generosity of the St. Mark’s community was reflected in the donations of over 100 towels for the Opportunity Center and linens and blankets for our visitors. Thank you to all who participated in this worthwhile project.
