August is a special month for the St. Mark’s Community because we welcome 15 of our unhoused neighbors to have dinner and sleep in our parish hall. We have been participating in this program for over forty years. The program is part of Life Moves. They provide a paid staff member to open the doors at 7:00 pm and lock up at 7:00 am. Our guests are screened and must help with daily cleanup of the Parish Hall, the kitchen and bathroom. Click here to learn more about Hotel de Zink

To make the program work, we need parishioners to provide dinner for 15 people each night in August. It is suggested that at least 2 people work together on a meal. Costco is a great resource! We try to avoid high sugar foods like soda and ice cream. A dinner consists of a main dish, vegetable or salad, fruit, and milk. You can email Susan Dansker with any questions or concerns.
