Annual Meeting Celebrates and Looks Forward

St. Mark’s Annual Meeting last Sunday, February 4, was a true celebration of where we have been, where we are, and where we are going – all good things!

Senior Warden’s Report

As part of the liturgy, our Senior Warden Suzanne Bell gave an inspiring Senior Warden’s report and announced the Chairs of our Transition Committee: Anne Callahan and Peter Kidder

New Vestry Members

At the business side of the meeting, new Vestry members were elected by unanimous acclamation: Jonake Bose, Martha Chan, Tom Jenkins, and Marina Martin. Our Deanery Delegation was also elected by unanimous acclamation: Terry Moore (chair), Bert Bell, Carla Bliss, Matthew Burt, Jonathan Harvey, Mildred Jones, and alternate Walter Underwood.

The Annual Report

The Annual Report with budgets, financials, and ministry reports is available here.

The children also reported on their own plans for the budget, a full 50% of which was earmarked for Candy.

On the celebration side, all enjoyed a delicious potluck in the Parish Hall featuring the annual slideshow.

Our celebration also featured the inaugural presentation of awards from the children of the parish, including to Anne Vosti, who bakes the best communion bread you’ve ever had.

-The Rector’s Award was presented to John and Maritza Frankfurt, for the innumerable behind-the-scenes hands-on work they do to keep St. Mark’s buildings and grounds together.

-The Warden’s Award was presented to Anne Callahan and Peter Kidder for their leadership of the many joyous transition events celebrating Fr. Matt’s retirement, the hiring of Rev. Nick as Interim Rector, and leading St. Mark’s into this Season of Transition.

The St. Mark’s community comes together, works together, plays together, and worships and prays together in so many special ways! An Annual Meeting and Annual Report barely scratch the surface, but naming, celebrating, and honoring as we do each year are so important, reminding us of what we have together through the goodness of the God who loves us – and the work we are called to do together as God’s people.
