We celebrated the end of the 2025 Summer Memory Challenge last Sunday with an ice cream party, certificates of achievement, and prayer card prizes! Over 30 people shared their memorized verse or prayer – in multiple languages!

Big thanks to Anne Anderson for spearheading this effort to help our St. Mark’s community connect with each other, with Scripture, and with our tradition of prayer.

Even though this Summer Memory Challenge is over, memorizing Scripture and prayer can be a year-round way to deepen your prayer practice. When it comes to the Bible, Deuteronomy 11:18 tells us to “lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul,” and Proverbs says to “write them on the tablet of your heart.”

If you want to continue this practice, here are some resources. We have plenty of certificates of achievement remaining, so come find Lily Dodge or Anne Anderson any time to share a memorized verse or prayer!
