about

I have lived most of my life in the Bay Area and grew up in the Episcopal Church (Anglican Church when I lived in Canada). I have raised my five children in the Episcopal Church. I am also blessed to have three grandchildren. As an adult, I have been active in the church, including.leading Sunday School and Godly Play, serving as a vestry member and Co-Junior Warden of my former parish in Pleasant Hill, serving multiple times as a diocesan delegate, assisting with planned giving, and running youth camps in theDiocese of California (I was the founder and director of Camp Saint Francis for seventeen years).

During graduate school I worked part-time at Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Oakland, leading Sunday School and writing curriculum. I have also done some lay preaching. After moving to the South Bay, I attended a couple of other parishes before settling on Saint Mark’s. I have been attending Saint Mark’s for five years now.

I have been active as a volunteer director and board member of several non-profits and serve on city commissions in the City of Pleasant Hill. I have been involved in Scouting since I was five years old (first in Canada and then the U.S.). I have been on staff at Scout summer camps, directed Cub Scout Day Camps, led Scout and Cub Scout units, and I am currently an Assistant Scoutmaster.

I have my own law practice. A few years ago, I worked as the Interim Executive Director of People Acting in Community Together (PACT), a faith-based community organizing non-profit that advocates for economic and racial justice in the South Bay. I play guitar, enjoy salsa dance, and have enjoyed some traveling the past couple of years.
