This group of pictures from the archives is labeled “First Ice Cream Social in August of 1978.” The envelope notes that it may have been welcoming back Rev. Colin Campbell and his wife, perhaps from their summer vacation. Ice cream socials in one form or another remain a popular part of church events – from the Community Fair to the church picnic to group trips we used to take to Baskin Robbins. Bringing back the Ice Cream Social seems like an excellent idea!

Thank you for sharing! In photo 6, I recognize all but only recall two names. At left is Virginia ___, then Joe Hansen, the music and choir director. The others were in the choir too. This would have been around the time the junior choir was formed, which was the awakening of my music education and love of choral music.
