I am so grateful that my spiritual journey led me to Saint Mark’s. I have grown spiritually and personally as a result of being in community with everyone here. I was raised and confirmed as a Roman Catholic. I then raised my children in the Unitarian Universalist Church where I taught Sunday school for seven years. I have attended St. Mark’s for 15 years and I can truly call St. Mark’s my forever church.
My earlier ministry here has been in coordinating Hotel de Zink, Sunday school teaching, and serving as a greeter and lector at the 8 am service. I have previously served on the vestry where I was junior warden for two years and I was one of the Sacred Ground curriculum leaders. Sacred Ground was transformational for me and as a result, I am part of the Becoming Beloved Community group which I co-chair. We bring speakers to St. Mark’s and the wider community on the topic of racial and social justice. I currently serve as a volunteer chaplain with CIC at the Elmwood jail and love to do Saturday morning shifts at the Day Worker Center, all with my beloved St. Mark’s fellow travelers. Outside of Saint Mark’s I am a docent at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve where I coordinate a school walk program and lead students and adults on nature walks at that beautiful place. I love to spend time with my two adult children and our grandchildren. I love to hike, swim, sew, scuba dive, read and travel.
I am a retired pharmaceutical scientist and I live in Los Altos with my husband, Paul Goldstein. Paul and I have been married for 50 years.
