Upcoming Jail Ministry Opportunities

St. Marks parishioners, together with CIC (Correctional Institutions Chaplaincy), led by our own Liz Milner, are doing life-changing work every day in the jails. Art classes, writing workshops, Sunday evening services, and responding to letters from inmates around the country are some of the ways our congregation is making a difference. Our support is a tangible way for us to respond to Jesus’s invitation for us to serve the least of us. (Matthew 25:40) Please consider these new opportunities for ways to support this ministry.

CIC Training Session at St. Marks! – September 16, 2-4 pm (Doors open at 1:30)

If you are already working with us, or are interested in learning more, you have an opportunity to join us right here at St. Marks for our semi-annual training session. Come hear from Liz and others who work full-time at the jail to learn more about what to expect and what to understand about our work there. Those with clearance already are encouraged to attend one training a year. Please see the link for registration below, or you may email Liz Milner at Liz@cicministries.org

Sat Sept 16th, 2-4pm, doors open at 1.30pm

Mead Notebooks Needed for Writing Groups

Even if you are not able to come “inside”, we welcome your support of our work at the jails by contributing black Mead Notebooks that are used for our writing workshops. It is important that they be black (no other colors) and the regular size. For your convenience, we have attached a link to the notebook we are looking for. You can drop off whatever amount you can donate to the outreach table at church or have them sent directly to the church at 600 Colorado Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94306  c/o Liz Milner. On Amazon they are called Mead or Veeboost Notebooks and they come in packs of different quantities.
