Forum july 12: impact of COVID 19 on the incarcerated

Join us this Sunday, July 12th at 11am (immediately following the livestream service!). We will begin with a brief “coffee hour” time, and then move into conversation!

A discussion with the Rev. Liz Milner (Chaplain to Santa Clara County jails) about incarceration and intersectionality, how it is perilously easy to become caught in a cycle of incarceration and poverty, and what is happening in our jails during this time of Covid. We will also consider a few ways you can respond, and some of the important things to remember as you engage.

Plan to also join us on July 26 for a discussion about homelessness during Covid-19. Katie Fantin (Abode Services Director of Housing Programs, Santa Clara County) will talk about how this crisis has impacted those who are unsheltered in our communities, what has been the state/county response, and what is next. Come hear some stories of learning to navigate a new normal in supporting those unhoused or insecurely housed during this pandemic, and how we as a community can support and learn in this season.
