Our focus on our neighbors who are homeless and insecurely housed continues during this time of crisis. If you would like to help, we encourage you to:
Make a financial donation directly to Project WeHope to support their work with the homeless. These funds will go to purchase hygiene kits and gift cards at stores that sell groceries and basic need items: https://www.wehope.org/covid-19-emergency-response or by mail to: WeHope, P.O. Box 50624, Palo Alto, CA 94303
Make a financial donation directly to Correctional Institutions Chaplaincy to support the purchase of spiritual resources for inmates at Elmwood Jail where all programming has been suspended: cicministries.org or to send a check by mail: CIC Ministries, P.O. Box 360068, Milpitas, CA 995036
Make a financial donation to Heart & Home Collaborative, a women’s cold weather shelter in Palo Alto to purchases much needed supplies like hand sanitizer, food, and gift cards. You can read about their needs and donate here: https://www.hhcollab.org/donate/
Write notes of encouragement to be shared with:
- our homeless neighbors who are feeling especially vulnerable and ostracized during this time. You can mail these directly to Project WeHope (see address above) or drop them off in the drop box outside the church office front door.
- those at Elmwood Jail, please use only plain white paper. You may also drop off unadorned, plain stationery or note cards and envelopes for inmates to use to write letters home. These may be dropped off in the drop box outside the church office front door at St. Mark’s. Please contact Liz Milner at [email protected] if you have questions.
Thank you for your generosity to the most vulnerable in the midst of this challenging and isolating time.
