Nominating New Vestry and Delegation Leaders

Nominating New Vestry and Delegation Leaders

Fall is the time when the Vestry Nominating Committee begins its work to prepare a slate of candidates for our Annual Meeting. During October, nomination forms for Vestry members will be available on the Welcome Table. Do you know someone in the Congregation who would be a good candidate? The Nominating Committee would like to hear from you!

The Nominating committee consists of at least two Vestry members, at least 2 non-Vestry members and the Rector. With input from the Congregation and information about the needs for each open position, the committee will work prayerfully to discern a slate of candidates for approval at the Annual Meeting.

The Vestry is designed to have 12 members who serve 3-year terms; three new members join and three members retire each year. In addition to attending regular monthly meetings, members serve as liaisons to St. Mark’s Commissions and Ministry Teams. The Vestry’s official responsibilities as defined by the Episcopal Church are to manage the business of the church in areas of finance and buildings, and to fill church leadership positions.

Deanery Delegates represent the parish at the Diocesan Convention.

Please let the Nominating Committee or the Clergy know of anyone who you think would be a valuable addition to the St. Mark’s Vestry or Delegation! Nomination forms will be on the Welcome Table or online.
