Ryan Macias is a postulant for Holy Orders from the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, and a third-year seminarian at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, California. He holds a B.A in Sacred Music from California Lutheran University. This summer he is completing a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education through San Francisco Night Ministry, serving as a chaplain on the streets of San Francisco between the hours of 8 PM and 4 AM. He also serves as seminarian-in-residence at Santiago/St. James Episcopal Church- a bilingual and multicultural community in East Oakland. Ryan’s passion for the Biblical text and social justice is rooted in his spiritual upbringing in the Baptist tradition. Outside of Church, he is an outdoorsman, and as well, enjoys gardening, cooking meals for others, movies, and reading poetry.
