Forum:  Listening to Others’ Stories — The First Step Toward Reconciliation and Restorative Justice

As Christians, we are called to recognize our long history of discrimination against people of color and to take steps to repair the breech.  Join us after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, December 11 for a forum sponsored by the Becoming Beloved Community Task Force that will focus on one of the first steps toward reconciliation — truly hearing the stories of others’ experiences.  Parishioner Mary Dillard will lead us in considering the blocks that often occur in hearing stories of racial discrimination and developing the skills we need to listen and respond appropriately.  Mary is the Executive Director at Mercy Retreat Center in Burlingame where she leads programs in spiritual direction formation and contemplative listening.
