The Food Closet is in full swing, and we need your help! Please help your neighbors in need by bringing the following items to St. Mark’s between Friday 9/10 and the Sunday service on 9/12:
- Paper grocery bags with handles
- Sandwich size ziploc bags
- Paper towels
- Empty egg cartons
- Rubber bands
- Instant coffee
- Instant oatmeal in packets
- Jam
- Canned protein products (except tuna)
- Crunchy peanut butter
- Canned hearty soups & packaged ramen
- Small cups of fruit
- Cream style corn
We will have collection boxes in front of the church office ready to receive your items. We will then bring them to our longstanding partners at the Food Closet at All Saints Episcopal Church in downtown Palo Alto. Thank you for making a difference!
Interested in making a deeper investment in the Food Closet? Regular volunteers are urgently needed for weekday shifts. For more info, please contact Michelle Gallagher (toyonlmg@gmail.com), who can connect you with the Food Closet organizers.
(PS- We will also have a large poster board for you to sign for Shirley, one of the Food Closet’s dedicated managers. She recently had a heart attack, and we want to show her some love from the St. Mark’s community! Colored markers will be provided.)
