DESCRIPTION:Following our regular Saturday ICE patrol on April 11th\, a few St. Mark’s parishioners will work from 8:30 to 10:30 alongside day workers transplanting succulents into small containers. This is part of a pilot program with the Day Workers Center intended to connect faith community members with older adult day laborers. Participants will plant succulent seedlings together and elder day laborers will receive stipends for their time and contributions. \nOn Sunday\, April 12\, the potted succulents will be available at St. Mark’s for sale. All proceeds will benefit the Day Workers Center. \nThis is more than a fundraiser — it is a chance to build bridges\, honor the dignity of our elders\, and grow something beautiful together. The goal is to create a sustainable source of income for the Day Workers Center and continue to grow projects that will build community at the center.

DESCRIPTION:Holy Listening: The Practice of Spiritual Discernment\n\n\nHow do we cultivate an awareness of God’s presence as we navigate complex life decisions?  How do we pray about the choices facing us\, and find clarity amidst transition and uncertainty?  If these questions are alive in you right now\, we invite you to join our Eastertide Discernment Group.  Over the course of four Sundays\, we will consider together how to recognize God’s voice as we navigate challenging life decisions around vocation\, ministry\, or personal life.\n\n\nThe group will be led by Rev. Kirsten and Rev. Debie\, and will meet after church from 11:45am to 12:30pm on April 19th and 26th\, and May 3rd and 10th. We ask that participants commit as much as possible to all four weeks\, so that we can provide mutual support to one another as we work on our own discernment questions.\n\nTo join the group\, please email Rev. From the so-bad-they’re…still bad actually…Left Behind series\, to conspiracy theories about microchips and barcodes\, to all-too-real political discourse and actions\, John’s visions in Revelation reach far beyond anything their ancient author could have imagined. But what did John imagine? Who was he writing for and why? And what’s the deal with all the hideous horned beasts? Join New Testament scholar Robyn Whitaker as she uncovers the real-world contexts behind this ancient apocalyptic text. A world occupied by an oppressive empire\, a marginalized people\, and a God committed to justice. Where a beast overthrown was a declaration of authority and a falling star was a statement of evil’s demise. Where symbols gave voice to resistance and visions provided a glimpse of hope.
