when and where
October 25, 2020 | 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
In California, 80% of the population lives in urban areas, making trees a vital part of daily life in cities. Marty Deggeller, a longtime Canopy volunteer and Board member, will talk about how trees are key to our quality of life, public health, and environmental justice — yet our urban trees are under compounding threats from development, budgetary pressures and global climate change. Learn about the benefits of trees, urban forestry, and the importance of community action to steward and speak for the trees. While not an urban forestry issue, Marty will comment on the impact of the extensive wildfires and how the forests will recover. We will have plenty of time for Q&A, so bring your tree-related questions!
Zoom link will go out in weekly Zoom Link email.
