Are you interested in St. Mark’s work with the Correctional Institutions Chaplaincy but are not able to come into the jail in person? Do you wish to contribute in a meaningful way to lives of those who are incarcerated? Or as Liz Milner asked us on Sunday, are you moved to act on your baptismal vow to “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being”?
If so, you may wish to work with us as we respond to letters from incarcerated individuals who have read or heard about a booklet of spiritual readings published by CIC. The booklet is made available to jails and prisons around the country and three or four times a month, there are requests from inmates who would like to learn more. Guidelines in how to respond with appropriate boundaries will be provided and sample responses available. If you are interested, please contact Liz Milner at Liz@cicministries.org, Anne Anderson at aa@andpac.com. or Christine Shambora at christineshambora@gmail.com
